A glossary can be as simple as a text list of 'special words' (such as internal company terms or short definitions for words that may have multiple meanings) to a spreadsheet or database of previously translated source/target words that have been established during previous translation work.

Clearly identifying proper nouns (company, product and peoples names) helps the translator to identify these in your document and ensure the translations (if required) are consistent and correct.
Special style requirements By requesting a specific style of writing you can be sure the translation will impress your target audience, whether the document is a memo, press release, patent application, annual report, presentation or something else.
Other remarks The more information you can provide, the better we can meet your needs. Other remarks could include special instructions for a specific langauge (if you have requested multiple targets), a layman's explanation of the document's contents, questions that you might like answered about the translation process before the job is processed, or anything else!
