Lexxicorp Pty., Ltd. was founded in Australia in December 1992, to provide language services to local and international clients. The Company is an affiliate of a business established in Tokyo, Japan in late 1990 (and incorporated as Trans-Asia Inc. in September 1994) by James M. Pach. Together with its affiliate in Japan, Lexxicorp quickly developed a reputation for delivering high-quality translations to tight deadlines.
The increasing globalization of commerce marked the 1990s and brought with it opportunities for growth for companies like Lexxicorp, which specializes in helping its clients access global markets. But with a challenging business environment in key markets such as Japan, the ability to deliver consistently high quality at competitive prices was essential for any upstart company wishing to achieve sustained growth. Developing this ability became the primary focus of Lexxicorp, which saw that the answer lay in innovation. We set about establishing unique processes that enabled us to not only achieve our twin goals of high quality and low cost, but also made us one of the fastest providers in the industry.
Lexxicorp was quick to recognize that translation is frequently just one component of much larger projects. From a very early stage, we have sought to provide our clients with a more comprehensive set of services that not only offers added convenience, but also enables language and presentation aspects to proceed in parallel, producing a more coherent result. In the mid 1990s, the Company developed rare expertise in multilingual desktop publishing skills, a boon for companies keen to export their products to growth markets such as China, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. We also added pre-press and printing services, to provide our clients with a convenient turnkey service.
We saw the rise of the Internet as both offering opportunities to innovate yet again in the delivery of our language services and creating new demand for diversified multilingual content. So we set about assembling of team of professionals in language, design and Web development, who together gave us a unique ability to assist clients seeking to localize or internationalize their Web presence, through services such as website development, translation and localization. This team also developed our own unique products, such as Study-Now (www.study-now.com), our e-learning site for language learners, Qwik-Trans (www.qwik-trans.com), a groundbreaking Web service for translation clients, and a set of tools designed to help our clients build and manage multilingual Web sites.
Now well into its second decade, Lexxicorp sees an exciting future at the intersection of language and technology. We will continue to combine technological innovation with language expertise to make it ever easier for our clients to operate internationally.
